Scott's Laproscopic CholecystectomyGallbladder just prior to removal. Not canned corn! Yes, that is fat. Forceps! Not here anymore. I know what you are thinking: looks like Lorena Bobbitt has been busy. Or "what a nice bratwurst". Shriveled, the gallbladder is a shell of its former stone-filled self. ![]() ![]() Behold, my insides. Surgery was performed on 15 May 2009.
This photo has notes. Move your mouse over the photo to see them.
Clockwise from upper left: (a) forceps pull at my gallbladder, peeling it off of the liver, (b) area of liver where the gallbladder was attached, (c) distended gallbladder after removal (surgeon's hand is present for scale), (d) contents of removed gallbladder (200+ stones, most likely cholesterol stones). So do the surgeon's photos come free with purchase of gallbladder removal surgery or did you have to pay extra for those shots? Or perhaps your insurance covers this?
