Vermillion |
This set was shot on 23 September 2007.
The Vermillion Life Saving Station was
built in 1876. It is located about 9.5
miles west of Whitefish Point (in
Michigan’s Upper Peninsula). It was
built to serve the treacherous stretch
of waters between the Soo and Munising.
It was consolidated with Crisp Point
Light Station in 1940. It is currently
owned by Lake Superior State University.
Two more great views of Vermillion
taken by G. Szymanski.

How things change along a shoreline is
fascinating. There are several homes in
the picture that are not in Vermillion
today.
Vermillion definately qualifies for the
status of being in the "middle of
nowehre".
