Looks like another poor soul got a fake iPod and brought it to us.

You guys should partner with some other
companies in the area and offer some sort of
free avoid-scams-on-ebay seminar/class...
that would be sweet for the people who get
disappointed with this stuff.

I wouldn't mind having a knock off as long as
you knew upfront that it was a fake.

I just received a fake iPod in the mail,
today.
I ordered a 80GB Video iPod, and asked the
seller to verify that it was a
legitimately-procured, 80GB Video iPod, and
that the contents of the order would be
exactly what I received if I went down to my
local Apple Store to get.
They of course said "yes". They
even sent me a screenshot of an opened Video
iPod case with contents, saying that what was
in the photo I'd get, but my box would be
unopened.
What I got was what is in the photo above,
except it was black, and had a forged
"ipod" and "apple" logo
on the front. It had the form factor of a
first-gen iPod Nano, and the back looked very
similar to an iPod Nano, but several words
were misspelled in the engraved text, and it
didn't state the storage capacity. The menu
system was completely different. After doing
some research, I found that it's actually a iSlim Nano MP4 Player . 512MB - 4GB. No video capability. All menu
text is Chinese. The middle button doesn't
work, and my computer doesn't recognize it.
Don't buy from China. Seems like a,
"duh". And I know, it was against
my better judgment and strong recommendation
of friends against the purchase that I still
did it. I asked them specific questions,
point blank, and they said that I should
trust them. I wanted them to come through an
be an example of an honest mainland Chinese
vendor. I know that they're out there, but
man. Durned if I'm ever buying from China,
again.
