Inside Bloor Cinema

I volunteered as a photographer for the 10th annual Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival that is happening right now. The opening screening was held at the Bloor Theatre, which was packed with people wanting to see the award winning Hong Kong movie, After this our Exile. A rather tragic 150min. movie, it left many people thinking about life in general.

The director, Patrick Tam, was present and sat beside me towards the end of the movie as I shook his hand and congratulated him. Other notables present included the Mayor of Toronto, Ben Chin, George Stroumboulopoulos, and others.

This night I met 7 friends out of pure coincidence, some whom I hadn't seen in months. It was a fun evening.

May and I saw "In the Mood for Love" at the Reel Asian Film Festival years back. I can't say I was a big fan of that movie. :P

BTW, I like the effect here. You propped the camera up at the bottom of the screen?

Jonathan in TO: I saw ITMFL at the Toronto Film Festival. I have to thank my friend for the gala ticket (Maggie and Tony were there), but if you saw the cut version (2.5 hours), imagine what it was like for the Director's cut version (3.5 hours). I appear to lack the art appreciation gene...

Jon, that would probably be Gabe. I was with him as well that evening. He was one of the 7 people that I met coincidentally that evening.

I've never seen ITMFL. I hear great things about it though. I kind of want to see it but I also hear similar things to what both you and Sifu says. I saw 2048 and thought it was only mildly entertaining so I'm guessing I may feel the same way with ITMFL. One of these days... one of these days.
