Spitz A3P Control ConsoleLights under here would illuminate your script, without kicking light up on the dome. Yellow cove lights Blue cove lights Fuses panel lights knob power switch: Each morning, you took the key off the nail in the drawer, stuck it in the slot and turned it to power up the console. Daily Motion: Moves the stars across your dome Annual motion: Moves the planets and Moon around the dome. Annual Motion Dial: Shows how many years back or forward you've gone. Latitiude Motion (Dial missing): Adjusts your latitude/the vertical position of the starball, but as the A3P only had one starball, you couldn't go too far south of the equator, or you'd block all the stars! I always made a poin swing it down so it didn't block images from our wide-angle projector. Clock Precession: adjusts the wobble of Earth's axis. You wanted to be very careful when using this knob! Moon phasing Stars: Turns them on. Sun: turns it on. Moon: turns it on. Inferior planets: turns on planets between Earth and Sun (Mercury and Venus). Superior Planets: Turns on planets that are outside Earth's orbit (Mars, Jupiter and Saturn). Meridian: placed a line from the northern horizon, through the zenith and to the southern horizon, with degrees marked along the way. Coordinates: Placed coordinate lines on the dome. Triangle: allows use of the astronomical triangle to pinpoint objects in the sky. When I was at COSI, this never worked. Ecliptic: Places a line along the ecliptic (the Sun's path across the sky) on the dome. Zenith: projected a dot of light on the zenith Pole: projected a dot of light on the North Celestial Pole. Useful for lining Polaris up after you've changed latitudes. Latitude: I don't remember what this switch did. Twilight: Brought up red and yellow twilight lights along the eastern horizon to simulate sunrise. Geocentric Earth: illuminated a light inside a clear globe that projected the continents on the dome. Satellite: I believe this just projected a dot of light that you could place anywhere you needed it. Reading Light: Turned on the light under the adjacent red plate Cardinal Points: Turned them on In Use Light: This switch illuminated a sign on the outside of the door, warning people that a show was in progress Pointer: This controlled the brightness of Al, or whatever anthropomorphized pointer your theater uses. Red house lights (at COSI): We wired red lumilines into this dial to give us extra color options. Perhaps this is the missing knob from latitude motion!
