A Tuxedo NightAs the cab pulled away from the curb, he counted his change before putting it in his wallet. He hadn't really counted it, though. Nor was he noticing the horrid stench of fresh garbage set out by the French Bistro as he passed by. His mind was preoccupied; this evening had not gone as he'd planned, or even imagined, as he had so often done mentally over the previous few weeks. This was not the way it was supposed to have ended up. The night air brought a chill into his open collar as he remembered the bowtie left in the backseat of the cab - - another absent-minded gesture. Hands shoved in his pockets, head down; his feet played staccato cracks against the scrape of dried leaves being whooshed along the cement; each together, yet alone, making their way in the night.

Lost In FogLast summer, Ann wanted do a self portrait in the beautiful sweater knit for her by Rebekka, so I got in on the session, and then a stranger came up and joined in, too! Ann and I shot with Polaroid backs - - hers,unexpired film on a Hasselblad, mine, very expired on a Holga; the stranger with a Nikon DSLR. A good time was had by all.
