Alvin Lustig Book Covers

My small but growing collection of book covers designed by modernist graphic design pioneer Alvin Lustig. Towards the end of his career he began going blind, but maintained meticulous control over his work by direct supervision of his wife, Elaine, and employees, whom executed his designs up until his death in 1955. Elaine went on to become a renowned graphic designer in her own right, which is featured in another of my photo sets.
