inspired by Gabriela
Happy Sunday everyone!
This post was inspired by the amazing photostream of Gabriela . I followed a link there yesterday from Claire and am SO glad I did. Now here's the link again for anyone that
missed it. You will be dazzled by her beautiful works of art!!!
The story behind this rose.....I was working on Valentines Day, one of
my long 12 hour shifts at the hospital, and the husband of one of the
patients there, went walking all around with a big armload of these
long stemmed roses.
He gave one to all of us, with a big smile on his face and a
thank-you.
It was so sweet and unexpected.

Well so many things I love about this shot....your focus and bokeh all in one on the rose, the drops which are a natch for you, love the way you did the texture with stem coming out of it and yet it is not present on the petals...(that is waaay cool), the frame which I will go post haste to Gabriela's site, now, to view more about but really....the story of the man in the hospital on Valentine's Day is THE BEST....I am sure he made so many of you feel *special* when your work is so difficult at times....all around goodness, I would say....

A delightful ty from that gentlemen. People in the trenches of the medical profession do not get nearly the appreciation they deserve. So my hat is off to you for what you do for those of us unable to do for ourselves...and I'm sure you do it with love.
This rose is beautiful, but your treatment of it makes it outstanding. Gorgeous.

saw your note..I am trading in the 5D when I get the mark ii! they are giving me $1100 for the 5D when you figure the numbers..so I guess that is alright..I might get more to sell it online..but I am too lazy to look..or set it up...! I am excited though..I hope it gets here by March 10th! as we are going to Mammoth later that week..so would like to have it along..I am off now to movies with Jon..later 'gator
