M101 LRGB - Test

M101 LRGB - Test

Still just testing out the potential on the 6"RC - I didn't throw too much time on this as I'm going to scrap all the data and start again after collimating the scope properly.

This is made up of just 36 mins in each RGB + Luminance from the other night.

I was reading an discussion yesterday about Luminance and whether to use it or not, why not just shoot more RGB? Thoughts?

M101

M101

Second test run on the Altair Astro 6" RC. I still have poor star shapes, this I'm convinced is due to side-by-side bar flexture. Even so, this is my best effort at M101 yet!

The RC has a second mounting rail on the top, so with an adapter from Altair I can piggy back the guide scope and take the side-by-side out of the equation.
