Florence, Oregon

Florence, Oregon

On Saturday I made a trip out to the coast. The sunset wasn't anything special. So I started shooting in monochrome and came out with a couple I like. Don't think I have announced on here that I have a new website www.skyler-hughes.com It isn't complete, but I am stoked to have it up. View it large. Thanks for looking.

A shot from last summer. An incredible night up here at Sparks lake. I have been really busy and not able to keep up with my contacts streams etc...I will try my best to return some comments. Let it snow. Thanks everyone for the comments.

Frozen Giant

Frozen Giant

I posted a shot from above earlier but decided to take it down. I took this today on my way over the pass. The blue in the ice was really cool to see. As I walked back to Salt Creek Falls with my Grandpa I thought for sure I was going to get skunked, but as I looked over the handrail the waterfall was still a frozen giant.

My Beautiful Addiction

My Beautiful Addiction

Trying to capture a composition including both of the falls was hard. I am not happy with this shot, but it does show how crazy this place his. Hiking down into the canyon with not just one but two waterfalls was something I have never seen before. Now the trees block a lot of the view to the right, but I did my best to include both of them. I was standing about thigh deep in water freezing my ass off in the rain. I had to try everything I could to get the shot though. Have a good weekend and GO DUCKS!

Time Spent In OregonPlay Video

Time Spent In Oregon

This is a quick edit of my first timelapse. Originally I made this video longer, but had to cut it down for flickr. A big shout out to my cousin for making the music for me. I started shooting over the Cascade Lake Highway, but it didn't turn out the way I expected so I continued to the valley. This was learning experience and I will do more in the future, now that I know what I am doing. The original video was made up of three thousand images playing at a tenth of a second. The aperture I tried to keep at F/11. That is where my lens is the sharpest. I batch edited in photoshop and then imported into Final Cut. Thanks for watching.
