Fore River Bridge, Quincy, MA

Fore River Bridge, Quincy, MA by Skyephoto.
This is a combination of two shots, both taken with a Nikkor PC 28 mm lens. It's a shift lens primarily used to keep perspective true in architectural photographs, but can be used effectively for panoramas by shiffting all the way to the left for the first shot, and then all the way to the right for the second shot, and merging the two images in Photoshop.

And just where have I been? What a great idea! I've had that lense for years and I've never used it like that....

Looks great, too!

This is beautiful work; lovely colors and reflections as well.

Those shift lens look handy if very expensive.

Great shot Lance! How much is that nikkor lens? The Canon one is outrageous (but on my list nonetheless).

Hi Andy- I'm counting on it. 16x38 for starters.
thanks Tamara
Matt- credit goes to Christian for the brilliant idea. Works like a charm, especially if you have a 90 pound tripod.
Kayode, Brian- This is a manual focus Nikon, (with an adapter) got it on eBay for just under $600 US. The Canon 24 goes for about $1100, but also has tilt. Mine is shift only. There is also a Nikon 35mm, that you can get for about $300!
Hi Sharon- Thanks. Are you doing the PRC thing this year? Hope to see you soon...

Yes I agree this is fantastic. Symetrical stability effervescing an incredibly seductive colorscape, and at the same time enough ideosyncracies to keep the spirit intrigued. Yes I'm pulled into the depth and sit in wonder........

Nice shot. Looks like the reflections are really clear. Wish I could see in bigger.
