Concert

The shot of the evening came when I stopped looking at the performers in front of me, and started paying attention to the gorgeous light that was coming from the stage. This image is practically straight out of camera except for removing a strong purple cast, and raising the exposure about half a stop to bring out some of the detail in the legs.

I spent all night shooting this concert at Schuba's with The Loneliest Monk, a really cool Chicago duo of a drummer and a cellist/keyboardist, as well as Belgian band Soy Un Caballo, who contrary to their name, sing in french. Loneliest Monk was enjoyable as always. It was my first time hearing Soy Un Caballo, and it was just beautiful music that touched my soul. I'll have to find some of their CDs or mp3s.
