Green up is the local term to describe when the trees in the area turn green for spring. The transition usually happens very quickly, with a local ridge that has been kept track of turning noticeably greener overnight. This year's was delayed a bit by a period of colder weather (including snow on May 5), and was far less distinct that usual. While "official" records are kept for Chena Ridge, here is the progression of the trees looking towards Birch Hill.
