Blue Hour at Hveravellir - West Highlands, Iceland

    Newer Older

The hotspring "Blue Pool" - Bláhver at Hveravellir geothermal peninsula, west highlands of Iceland. Exposed under a blue moonlight. Looking down to the pool, it seems to have an endless blue depth. The colored liquid is rich with silica minerals among other geothermal materials.

The Icelands most famous outlaw Eyvindur was maybe the first to discover Hveravellir, when hiding in the highlands of Iceland, after steeling some sheep from farmers. He was clever to make use of the geothermal area to survive the cold winter in Iceland.
