Monotype Marathon 2009 Exhibition Prints

The 15th Annual Monotype Marathon – a print exhibition and fundraising auction that features the work of the best printmakers in the Bay Area. The exhibition runs from July 1st to July 18th at the ICA and culminates with a silent auction on the evening of July 18th. Event sponsorships are on sale now at the ICA.

The Monotype Marathon begins with an intensive weekend of art-making by over seventy-five artists in printmaking studios throughout the Bay Area. These artists are invited by the ICA to produce a number of prints. The ICA selects the best work produced by each artist to show in the exhibition and offers the work for sale in the auction. Proceeds raised from the event go toward the ICA’s exhibitions and educational programs.

New to the event this year is a show of prints from the ICA Print Center’s Artists-in-Residence program. Work from these artists will be featured in the exhibition and available for sale at the auction.
