After many years of just thinking about it, I recently got my backside in gear and actually started bird ringing training (banding for my flickr friends outside the UK)
I didn't actually get to ring this bird, that honour fell to the guy who's site we were on. Quite rightly, it was only his second Jay, and first as a 'C' permit holder :) (note Svensson's Passerines (or "ringer's bible") open in the background of the processing shot)

Getting horribly behind with Flickr - moved house and won't have internet at new house for a few weeks yet. (having to sneak a few pics on at work when I can!) Plus my Pro account has lapsed and won't be renewing it til my wallet has recovered from the costs of moving! Hopefully I'll be back surfing your photostreams with a bit more regularity soon

These guys are getting much more use currently than my D70. I'm sure it's a fad that'll settle down soon ;)
