I caught my mother's cat playing with this baby chipmunk. He curled up in my hand and did not seem to want to leave. I found his family's hole and set him by it. He slowly retreated to the hole, but turned around to look back out at me and considered coming back to my hands! It was love.

We used to keep a rescued chipmunk as a pet. We had her for years and years, she did backflips in her enclosure. Her name was Sybil, I miss her :( She died of cancer.

How wonderful! I had a similar experiance just the other day with a baby mouse I found. It sat up in my hand and proceeded to clean it's face completely at ease as if I wasn't even there :)

That is the cutest little face I've ever seen, seriously.
A couple years ago, my husband and I were browsing in a little shop in Maine, and we realized there was a chipmunk running around. Turns out the shop owner was keeping him as sort of a wild pet. Ever since then I've wanted one of my own. :-)
