but we have some wild ones visiting us in the yard from time to time and i remember one of them ate butter cookie crumbs in my hands once (my daughter was amazed by that)

A hedgie! Gosh he's adorable. I would've gotten one instead of ratties if they weren't so darn expensive. His fur looks so very soft and clean. I like his color, too; the light ones look strange, I think.

Oh my he's adorable, I didn't know people had them for pets. One of the things I miss about living in England, is having wild hedgehogs visit the garden for a treat of some cat food. They are known as the gardeners friend because they eat slugs. Does he roll up in to a ball?

I'm glad everyone likes his name. For some absurd reason that I can't recall anymore, it was a toss up between Acorn and Amelia Earheart! I'm very glad we went with Acorn (especially since he turned out to be a little man-hog).

This is really cute. It looks so soft with the white fur. The ones in Germany are rather grey but still cute. Didn't know you can have them as pets.
