Inverse Reverse Perverse Doppleganger

Inverse Reverse Perverse Doppleganger

Continuing with the doppleganger theme, this shot was also take at Tate Britain, London. The work of art by Cerith Wyn Evans, Inverse Reverse Perverse 1996. I initially thought that it was an Anish Kapoor piece as he is well known for his mirrored surface pieces. I took a lot of people looking at this piece, in the end this was the one that worked out.

The word doppelgänger is a loanword from German: Doppel (double) and Gänger (walker).

A Stranger doppleganger, London, Tate Britain (Abdel)

A Stranger doppleganger, London, Tate Britain (Abdel)

This is my latest in portraits in art galleries, this time it is a portrait of a young French man, Abdel a research doctor, in Tate Britain, London. The first shot was taken from behind looking towards the video installation "Threshold to the Kingdom 2000", by Mark Wallinger. Being in an art gallery I had to do something different, yet following in the footsteps of some of my city photography.

This picture is #064 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com

A point of note that I got the doppleganger idea from Ray's last comment on my previous post.

I have also started a Tumblr blog posting photos that I find all over the net and will be posting my flickr favourites to complement some of my own better photographs. It is proving to be a very interesting process as it make you really look at your own work with that of your heroes and pushes your ideas on.

Tate-etaT Doppleganger

Tate-etaT Doppleganger

Been so busy recently so been unable to upload any new material to flickr. This photo of Mae, a Malasian student studying in London was taken in Tate Modern. I was drawn to her by her red dress. In fact I had a chat with her and asked her to walk infront of these photos taken in Mozambique by Guy Tillim.

Flickr heroes - 2011

Flickr heroes - 2011

Once again i have been going through my favourites and comment regulars over the last day or two. There are so many great photographs out there. Many faves are from those of you who regularly comment on my post which is much appreciated, as I really respect and admire your work. As a final post of 2011 I thought that I would add your photos to one of mine that I took of the Apple store, London. It's another pastiche of the Led Zeppelin cover Physical Graffiti, but I added some of my flickr heros in the windows.

Once again what would be cool is if those of you that I have featured would add a note to your image and hence feed back to your stream. I have added names to photos but so of you guys do not allow. I am also sorry to those of you that I have not featured.

Wishing all a Happy & Prosperous New Year
