'73 Vintage Fender Telecaster
This original rare black lacquered vintage Fender Telecaster Custom ’73 has been owned by me since 1976 when I bought it from a retiring London session musician who managed to get just about any sound out of it. The neck plate serial number is 417009 which dates it as a 1973 build. All parts except one volume knob are original and I’ve only had to have a pickup re-wound (by Fender) so pretty much as built. The saddle bridge/pickup is the classic pre ‘60s Tele design while the neck pickup is a Fender Humbucker. It’s had a few knocks over the years (see photos) which just add to its character, everything works, plays like a total dream with a classic classy tone and has incredible mojo.
