Alamo Square

Newer Older

These are some Victorian homes nearby Alamo Square Park known as the "Painted Ladies". One of the cliche SF postcard views, I thought I would try my hand at shooting it since it's only a mile or so from my apt.... Also my first time using the Photomatix 3.0 beta from hdrsoft, it seemed pretty smooth.

You know what, I drove around for over an hour in the city looking for this area! Couldn't find it so I headed to the Marin headlands instead. Next time...

Looks like a model with a backdrop, which is super cool knowing it's not.

The colors are amazing and I love how you were able to combine the exposures for the city and the houses. Absolutely beautiful.

I gotta wonder who lives here, and if there is a premium on their homes because of the famous location. I wonder if the fame is something they appreciate or if it grows old having people across the street taking a photo all the time. I see all their blinds are drawn.

I love your evening shots. :-)

I would think given the price paid for these (multi millions) they would have to want the fame and attention ... and probably trying to make theirs better than everyone else's on the block, too. What a life!
