Sashimi Lunch
12-15 pieces of Chef's Choice in Assorted Sashimi ($15)
Served with a choice of salad or miso soup. (I chose to upgrade my salad to a seaweed salad for an additional $1.50) The beautifully packaged set contained 3p Maguro (red tuna) 2p Hamachi (yellowtail) – my fave! 3p Sake Atlantic (Atlantic salmon) 2p Hirame (fluke) 2p Hotate Gai (scallop) 1p Unagi (grilled eel) 2p Hokki Gai (surf clam) – this was most interesting to watch Chef Lee prepare. He would smack the whole clam on the table, before slicing it in two halves and then cutting little slits into the clam. All of this was served on a bed of shredded daikon and hirami seaweed. Lemon and lime wedges, baby sprouts, shiso leaves, blanched white asparagus, gari, along with a gooseberry and fresh orchid garnished the plate. CommentsThe Gifted Photographer
