	Siobhan Curran says: Hmm. Well, the actual process is very very simple. They're made pretty-much just how they look like they're made. But I think, sometimes, that people get far too hung-up on the process, and ignore the other aspects of them. I mean, a while back, someone got very uppity with me in a very well-read blog that had posted one of them, declaring that "this is dead easy, anyone could do this", and linking to one that they'd made themselves. "You just stretch some pixels", they said. I was rather pleased that a lot of people came back at him saying "yeah, but you have to know which pixels to stretch" :-) Basically, it takes me a few seconds to make them. 	chipstah says: peter saville did a series of them, in a very similar style. he took one pixel width of a photo of manchester, london, new york etc. and stretched them. they became landscape identities of each city. i used the same technique for a job in the NQT manchester. what was the original picture? 	Siobhan Curran says: It was of my partner. Actually, it was two photographs - which is what I always do, combining them together to produce a specific aesthetic. Funny you should mention Peter Saville's work.
