How?

My questions:

1) How does the backhoe get OUT of the big hole?
2) What does it do with the dirt? Just move it around?

It's a little blown out, so it could be any pit in downtown. The pit next to my office (229 11 Ave SE) has a big dirt ramp on the south side.

Further north, by La Caille.

All you can see is it. Big hole in the ground. Pile of dirt in the middle of the hole, backhoe messing around on the pile of dirt. The only way I can see to get it out is with a crane.
