Perito Moreno Glacier

Perito Moreno Glacier by StevenMiller.
The glacier moves downhill into the lake at a rate of about two meters a day and also melts at about the same rate. Several rivers of snow and ice merge uphill to form a single, monster of a glacier. This photo shows about 20% of the total width.

Chuncks of ice were falling from the face of this monster, almost constantly. And when they did it sounded like thunder and the crowd went wild asking who got the shot (photo)? I didn't. Glacier National Park, Patagonia, Argentina.
