shining egg's photostream  

i just typed a whole bunch of blather and then flickr ate it. try again? hmm.

dinner at my mom's. beef stew. i made the moosewood 6 minute chocolate cake again, a total hit. i botched the glaze, so i dusted it with powdered sugar and put raspberries on the side and that was that.

this has been a week. i'm glad it's friday and tomorrow is quiet.

hope your friday nights are grand. or utterly quiet. or both.

kind of wishing i had used military time to tag these photos. so i wouldn't have to guess if it was day or night.

the dog was bonkers today. my mother says maybe it's the weather? and gosh, i'm hoping she's right. the kids were particularly argumentative too. which made for one edgy momma.

i painted today. which is what i always say when i'm making art, but the truth is that i was making encaustic monotypes and not painting at all. i'd like to think i'll paint again sometime, but for now i can't stop with the melted wax. the equipment for this process is very expensive, which is why i'm using a borrowed pancake griddle. but now i'm fantasizing about an enormous hot box for making huge prints.

leftovers for dinner (did i mention argumentative?), but we cleared out the fridge. there was no homework all week, which was a gift (for me as much as for them). i'm looking forward to quiet this weekend. with my fingers crossed.
