Total Lunar Eclipse
Not a successful capture, but I learned a lot. I'll try again on year 2011 !
After the failure, I searched the internet and found this wonderful tutorial, aaahhh too late! I use a 500mm telephoto lens and Canon 350D, and my two cents along the process are: 1. Use a sturdy tripod. 2. Activate the mirror lock-up function of the camera. 3. The moon walks - no, not MJ :) - long exposure could give you a blurry image. 4. Shoot in RAW. You need those extra bits to boost the image in post-procesing. 5. Use two memory cards. After shooting a few shots, switch memory cards, upload photos to the computer to see results (and learn mistakes) immediately. The other card prevents you from missing a shot. 6. Use the manual mode of the camera. 7. Bracket exposures. P.S. Taipei had only about 90 minutes window to observe the lunar eclipse. Commentsshotmeshotyou says:thats an awesome shot! fjny
