Thanks for the invite, I've added it! The
smell was how I noticed it was burning in the
first place. I think we might own the worst
toaster in the world.
I've halfway figured out normal bread, but
this was actually frozen. That might have
contributed to its demise. I don't like burned toast at all, which could
be down to being surrounded by hypochondriac
health professionals, who keep on telling me
how bad it is for me!
I cannot look at this for long. My son and I
abhore anything remotely too dark ~ toast,
grilled cheese, pancakes. While i will scrape
the bad parts off, he's so picky, he won't
even touch it! (I am quite careful in the
kitchen, which is not a bad thing.) I think
it's not even good for birds.
If it's just a little bit burned, I tend to
scrape it off, too. Eating things burned to a
crisp must be a British thing. Even my
boyfriend does it, although as a student
nurse he really should know better.
In the past i've heard that homecare nurses
sometimes slightly burn the toast for their
clients, because it defuses flatulence..no
idea if that's true.... maybe your bf could confirm/refute? ps lori,
the burnty bits of grilled cheese, are my
favourite bits!! Sorry if that horrifies
everyone...
I asked and he says he's never heard of that,
but then he's more of a hospital nurse. It's
probably all just a question of taste really.
The next time I burn my toast, I will just
send it to you ;).

we love burnt toast at Scratch'n'Sniff, and we'd love to have this added to the group!
