Mr. Poitier and I

Circa 1982. West Hollywood, California. About 11. This is a horizontal and more clearer version than the previous photograph of Mr. Poitier and I. I didn't realize I had the original proof sheet and was pleasantly surprised how it came out. It's a photograph I will certainly cherish.

My father took the picture.

This is a fabulous shot. And as far as a portrait shot goes is great. I love how it is framed and the background is also very symbolic of what both of you must have had to jump over professionally at that timne....and unfortunately still today.

We are/were very lucky to have the Robeson’s , Ozzie's, Belafonte’s, Glover's... what decent men! What a bright stage they have given us! Somehow I know this is more tribute than anything else. This business runs on luck... and knowing what to do when you get it. Oh yeah and giving back... thank you!

She used to really relate to this movie 'Guess who's coming to dinner', being a European dating a man from South America...
