the shed and bathtub

    Newer Older

That garden shed might become a chicken coop, soon. And the bathtub? Our wonderful landlord found it, and buried it part way in the dirt. It's going to become my Buddhist shrine, a place for meditation in the backyard.

The place looks fairy tale dreamy!

Oh, my, that is gorgeous! And, I would guess, nowhere near the hill on which you used to live...

Yes, I can see that yard - and you - with chickens.

      Bakerina,

My dear, as always, yes. Anyone who quotes XTC to me about my new backyard? You're a doll.

And yes, eggs as in custards and curds and plenty of scrambles. It makes sense. We eat more eggs than most humans. My sister-in-law has some baby chicks she's saving for us as they grow up. We can't wait. We'll talk.

(I owe you an email, but you now you see why I haven't written back yet! Soon.)

      Not Martha,

My dear, this comment has been in my head all day. Yes. That's right. Fairy tale dreamy. I think that's the home's name, now.

      Kimberly McK,

Oh dear, we've moved away from the hill, and I haven't even had a chance to see you. But there's the Queen Anne farmers' market. You know I'll be coming back for that.

(And you're another one to whom I owe an email. Soon!)

      Oh Kitchenmage,

Don't I wish! We aren't going to have chickens for a few months, it seems, because the coop isn't ready. but my sister has already picked out the best of her baby chicks for us, so I think we're going to be okay with the chicken population!
