My Ends - Broadcasted!

Newer Older

Photographs from my Ends Set are currently on show this week on four Slow TV screens in a shop window on High Bridge, in the centre of Newcastle, as part of the Waygood Gallery programme and AV08 Festival

In the first season of SLOW TV, four screens simultaneously broadcast sets of photographs from the photosharing site www.flickr.com re-interpreted into slideshows by WYGD and shoreview13.

each artist's work should be shown four times a day for four days...

However... there is currently another technical hitch
all the screens are frozen on one single image.

The slideshow is not running... hope to get get this sorted asap

These four screens are going to be in place for the next year, while redevelopment continues.

We are just starting to get things sorted out for the next phase of Slow TV...
If you want four of your sets of pictures to be shown on the screens join the Slow TV group and add links to the sets you want to be shown here.

Once we have got a really good system for generating the slideshows easily...
(actually I am currently tempted to run them off the inbuilt slideshow facility within flickr),
then we can start thinking of showing site specific made work.

By that I mean showing sets of pictures that need to be seen in the configuration of four separate screens.

In fact Leo Reynolds has already done this.
I hope we can get the screens working properly as Leo intends to travel up Norfolk to Newcastle to see the screens. Yikes! a bit of a responsibility.
    :)
Just had a call from sad mac saying the screens are up and running again.

Great news Topsey, and so glad they got it running again.
Good luck to all those who follow.

    Well done you.

    Great stuff - looking good!

I know the idea was to make situation specific sets (and I will have a go at this for a later wave of slow tv) but I must say I like the unplanned juxtapositions created by showing the four sets at once on the screens. :) Hopefully come up to photograph it tomorrow.

  14. Topsy@Waygood 64 months ago | reply

Are you saying there is more good news above and beyond the half million views?

  15. sosij 64 months ago | reply

    Thanks Mister Rad
@WYGD, yes, I am, I just went around last night saying to the family "I'm so Happy" adinfinitum. (I dont think they minded)
Wednesday I can do an image to let you know about it.
AND its my birthday Saturday, I hope there is not a giant dip for me beginning of next week!
