Postcard from Paradise

Postcard from Paradise by sharkbait.
A view of Prickly Pear Island from the beach near Beggars Point in the North West of Antigua.
One of the few points in the North of the island where you can actually get to the beach. Most of the North coast if filled up with closed, gated communities filled with (who were described on the radio as) the super-rich.

You wouldn't know it was windy save for the tree. Gorgeous shot. And what a beach!

I've never been to a tropical island. It looks so peaceful and beautiful there. I'm still trying to figure out which Caribbean island is best to go to (if you're not rich, love Caribbean food, music, and dancing, but get bored easily and don't really want to go snorkeling or fishing or anything really athletic).

Thanks CyberGabi !
Hey suzysputnik, this was my first time in the Caribbean, so I don't know enough to recommend somewhere.
I was not in Antigua on a typical resort holiday, I was sailing with friends.
I think the Caribbean is pretty popular with Americans and Canadians, there are probably lots of cheap deals to be had.
The prices in Antigua were very varied, I paid something like London prices for meals in restaurants for tourists ....... and more like 50c for meals in places for locals. If you use the buses you can get around for next to nothing.
