The photo though, it just breaks too many rules for me. Your horizon splits the frame and the sun although beautiful is almost right in the center of the frame. Almost. Anyway I tried to figure out how I would crop it and take out some of the blank sky (I left a note) but it just doesn't do it for me. You have much better shots in your stream.

Yah I agree, people seem to like this one though.

As for the 'rules', it's almost there just the horizon is a little too central, the sun is almost at the intersection of the '3rds' but not quite. If I were to crop according to the 'rules' I'd stick it on the intersection.

Looks hot. I kinda agree with the crop suggestion, perhaps not that particular crop, but something more panoramic would look good.

The other image you posted however has better tones for me, but this one is interesting in its own way.

I agree with the sentiments of the crop suggestion -- remove a bit of the sky since it's no way near as interesting as the sand.
