dragon fruit

Isn't this fruit beautiful? I saw it for the first time in the supermarket and had to try it. It is called dragon fruit or pitaya, and is delicious - sweet, tart and a tad astringent all at the same time.

These are my very favorite fruit.
Fruit of a cactus. I would eat them everyday if i could.
Here, we get the red ones, red inside with black seeds, they resemble the color of beetroot. They are sweeter than the white ones.
For those who never had them they are a little like kiwifruit.
