The Sint Baafskathedraal in Ghent is one of the most striking buildings in the city. I was drawn to it like it had some type of supernatural force. Unfortunately, cameras were not allowed inside so I had to make due outside, which was not a bad thing. I wish I could have spent more time in Belgium since its architecture impressed me quite a bit more then that of Amsterdam. I’ll be back someday!

GASP! This is not HDR! HDR was attempted on this shot, but I actually made the overall image worse, where the "sci-fi" look starts to overwhelm everything. This is a simple blend of 4 layers in photoshop with good use of layer masks.

Birds were shot from that day, but not while I shot this. I knew I wanted to do something dramatic with birds as a "cherry on top" to one of my shots, and this one fit the bill perfectly.

Very nice shot Shane, I'm wondering about that impossible HDR though, if it turns the sci-fi look, tune down the strength and saturation ( use "very high" light smoothing ), but then again what do I know ?-)
