One More Pour and Splash

One More Pour and Splash

Same setup as my prior pour/splash shots but on this one, I added a little flashlight on the water splash to get some yellow reflections.

Just Before the Sun

Same flight from KC to Minneapolis and then on to Kalispell, this time with a different perspective and the hint of the jet engine below the wing.

Sunrise - Moonrise

Sunrise - Moonrise

From the window seat on an early morning Delta flight from Kansas City to Minneapolis on the way to Kalispell, Montana. A Beautiful view and a great day to fly.

Fujifilm X10 | ISO 250 | 11.7mm lens | f/4.5 | 1/125 second

Some work in CS5 - shooting through a window creates some ghosting and other nasties that can be fixed in CS5, but ... need to be fixed. The colors, however, are pretty true to the show that mother nature provided.

More Water Flow

More Water Flow

Strobist Info: SB 900 on floor set to light white paper roll background at 1/8 power; SB 900 in light stand camera right at 1/4 power lighting water and glass triggered in commander mode.

This is a wine glass attached to a cookie sheet at an angle and held in place by museum putty. The cookie sheet is held by a clamp in a light stand. There is a rubbermaid bin below to catch the water as it shoots out of the glass. The water, with red food color, is poured into the glass and as it hits the glass, the camera is triggered by a remote cable.

Very similar shot to a prior post but I played with where in the glass I poured and as a result, the splash out of the glass is different and maybe more explosive.

In CS5, I created a selective color layer and increased the white slider. This helps whiten up the already white background for the high key look without adjusting or affecting any other parts of the picture. The result is a feeling the glass, as well the water, are floating.
