Maligayang Araw ng Kalayaan

The worst part of SL is when a close friend jacks off your sim idea and runs to sell it as his own to the next development company in SL. The 8 months of hardwork of people close to me, colleen, jezz, my bf, friends has been put to waste.

When an idea is copied, execution suffers. There is no soul, no life. One Man. One friend I held dear for so many months has shattered this friendship. Mr. Ophelia.

I am Pinoy and I am proud to make my own Ideas.

Shai, is it necessary to do this? There are obviously differences of opinion on both sides and it should be something personal between you and those involved, why drag it to flickr? To spin it into something like what you said...he "ran to sell it as his own?" just wow... I personally saw all the work that went into this sim (that other friends of yours were very much involved in) and from what I understand your idea was not copied and something totally different. I don't think it's going to do anyone any good, including yourself, to start slinging mud in public.

I am sorry you feel like you were stolen from in any case but honestly I don't think this is the way to handle it :/.

Last time we spoke, we talked about it. it was explained clearly that this wasn't MY idea and above all nothing is stolen from your idea to base your sim on Buildings in the country where you life. (matter of fact how many spanish influenced building styles are there in the world?)

I really dislike after things we have been going through, you need to throw mud on a public site, while you know you can contact me threw many ways. But you didn't at all, and you still haven't.

Pretty sure you cant claim OWNERSHIP of a style of building... but I agree with Menno and Tor, speaking to a 'friend' you have a conflict with is preferable to trolling on flickr about an obvious misunderstanding.

It was not an idea sold to us, but was intended to be a showpiece for Matt (our creative director) to help his dad (who grew up in Cuba) understand virtual worlds.

I am CERTAIN you guys can make something equally awesome and will reach a great number of folks. We are not actively advertising our island or otherwise pushing it as anything other than a space to be enjoyed in SL, so we shouldn't be detracting from any business you will bring to your space.

The respect amongst "Creators" if that's what "we call ourselves" these days it is so fucking lowly!... and looking for the quick buck or attention seeking has become one of the lamer sides of SL.

So yay got that off my chest.... Shai.... I agree it sucks this happened! and yes you will come up with other ideas.... but don't tell a soul... maybeh Kris cause you can beats him up but just keep it to yourself .... make more clothes please thanks :)
