Success?

Success?

We're still not sure if the Barcelona trip to climb La Sagrada Familia was a success or not. One attempt Qx and myself made to scale the fence ended with us running through the tiny streets with angry Spaniard security guards in tow. We did manage to get up one of the cranes, but it felt a bit like a consolation prize.

Unfortunately this trip followed the infamous biscuits and orange juice evening in Paris and my nerves were a little fried... If only I had of been willing to do that rope swing... sorry about that Qx.

In other news, those who check pridian.net regularly (yes, all three of you) may have noticed that things have been pretty quiet lately. It's not because nothing has been going on, the opposite in fact. For the last 6 months life has been on the road, a state of being which is not conducive to updating websites. The good news is that I've been dragging my camera along every step of the way. From ship graveyards in Iran to the London underground and locations from all the countries in between; there are some pretty interesting things on the way. I'll even be dragging a few photos out of the secret squirrels folder, photos that have kept under wraps for almost four years...

There are also a few changes to the way this site is run. Originally I planned to post one photo every week to ensure only the best stuff goes up. That has resulted in a huge backlog of photos that I just can't bare to dump into the rejects folder. So I've decided to start posting photos on a more regular basis. Don't worry, I won't start posting every single out of focus photo that comes out of my camera. Just every now and then, particularly when I have more than one decent photo from a given location.

Anyway, we're back!

Escapism

Escapism

“…not being bound by rules as the general public are, but instead pushing the envelope, taking things into your own hands and climbing that fence, opening that door, etc – it’s a form of escapism. If we create a load of new rules within this sphere, then we’re back to square one.” - Snapple.

Notre-Dame de Fourvière

Notre-Dame de Fourvière

Spent a great weekend chilling in the sun and climbing buildings in Lyon with Claire-Elise and Seth. Here is a shot from the rooftop of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, the famous cathedral of Lyon.

The Way In and The Way Out

The Way In and The Way Out

Getting in and out of the catas is sometimes an ordeal. The manholes are heavy and there is an art to opening one from the inside after several beers and many hours underground. It is an essential skill for anyone planning on visiting the catas on a regular basis.
