August 2008: the park area right in front of City Hall is converted to a "Victory garden" style food garden as part of a "slow food nation" event ...blah blah blah sustainablity...blah blah blah....biodiversity.... blah blah blah.... alice waters.... blah blah blah.... there's probably something about barack obama in there, and i'm sure the ticketed events will be all about goddam WINE... anyway, nice garden, wildflowers, small birds, didn't see any rats and the homeless haven't destroyed it (yet)
