Nice composition. i like the way the woman's gesture is mirrored in the coiled wires. BUT the focus is soft and the tonal range feels so flat. Nice but:

Nice enough to look at if you've got nothing better on hand.

Do I want to return to this image?
Does it haunt me?
Is this a great photo?

No. Its a bit bland really.

Interesting but don't like that the edge of the building isn't perpendicular to the frame.

thanks again for the comments, members of the deleteme academy.

to the people who wanted me to crop the space on the left out: i think that's important to the composition because it adds depth, and gives the eye some place to look. it also provides a nice dark contrast to the wall. if i cropped it out, i would be further annoying the people who complained that the photo is too flat. i happen to like flatness in a photo, but i understand this is not a universal opinion.

This pic got my attention in the "interesting" pics right away. Partly cos it wasn't overcolorized glamcrap, and partly for some reason I couldn't put my finger on. Then I saw it was Dubrovnik. My favourite town here on earth... So obviously the attraction is in the pic (I didn't immediately link it to Dubrovnik but liked it anyway) but also in the recognition... You know, I think the answer lies in the simultaneous boldness and restraint of the architecture, plus it's so seductively graceful. Hm, good pic to awaken so much. Cartier-Bresson wasn't a bad association.
