amphalon, I don't have any real info about that photo. I first saw it a few months ago here: ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t =4738&st... (you may have to register to view, but it's a super-cool forum). I believe that this is where the pic was "launched" into the web.

It was linked directly from the URL I posted above, together with many other antique bicycle photos, some of them mentioning the "State Library of South Australia". The poster "hewey" introduces them as "Some pics from the 'Picture Australia' website (online Aussie heritage pic database)".

Other pics came from these other Australian sites: www.slv.vic.gov.au, slsa.sa.gov.au, naa.gov.au/.

also, impossible. any bicycle will lose its grip after approx 45°. and that's on a stable surface. or the pedals will hit the ground (if he's not coasting).

unless.. maybe the angle of the photo makes the angle look steeper than it actually is..?
