The Provincetown Playhouse
133 MacDougal St.
Founded in 1915 by George Cook and wife Susan Glaspell. Loads of plays came through here, written by e.e. Cummings, Eugene O'Neill - and heck Bette Davis made her stage debut here. Check this out: After the place got big, they closed up the theatre and moved to Greece, "convinced that acceptance by the establishment signaled their failure as revolutionary artists." HAH!
