Thanks very much! Looking at these beautiful objects from Ancient Iraq I am struck by the human and cultural tragedy of that land now. But also by the wonderful continuity of myth. The owls- birds of the night became symbols of Athena and wisdom in the Greek mythology of a thousand years later. And the sound of a screech owl at night can still send a shiver down the spine.

    Hello,
I am researching royalty free and public domain images for use in a documentary film on Gilgamesh.
Would you allow us to use this image of Ishtar?
Do you own all the rights to the image?

thank you, this image is very important for my research. The XV taroth is the same image of this goddess. So the origin of 'The Devil' is Ishtar, I suppose!

    regards.
