That little cap that he made by zipping popped off (with lots of effort on his part!), and out flopped a wet and exhausted turkey poult.

Once he gathered his strength, the poult "zipped," or poked holes/cracks all the way around the egg (like a zipper!).

See that turkey egg there in the middle, with a little poke? That's the pip. He was pipped for hours before moving on to the next step.
