Driving The Volvo

    Newer Older

This is about a 5 minute exposure at F/22 driving on I-88. The hardest part about taking this photo was finding a place in my car to put my camera/tripod and operate the camera while driving. My tripod kept moving throughout my drive; next time I try this I am going to need to find a way of keeping my camera still. I should also maybe let somebody else do the driving.

no, not duct tape... gaff tape. Gaff tape is the new duct tape in my eyes.

Very good point. Duct tape may rip up my cracking 21 year old leather.

my first car was a 244DL, next was a 740 wagon, I loved both of those cars - never tried to set up a tripod in one though. I do spend a good amount of time on the highway and will be trying this. I shot some with my Holga from my car recently and that worked out pretty well.

I was driving a 1987 Volvo 745 in this photo. It was involved in a hit and run accident last July. I recently bought a 1991 744 which is in much better condition but I kinda miss having a wagon.

There's just something about this photo, it's electric - love the hand movement above the gear knob!
