nordic biennale pavilion in venice, 1958-1962.
architect: sverre fehn, 1924-2009.
sverre fehn's finest hour, no doubt.
fehn talks of the milky white, shadowless nordic light and obtains it
here by filtering the much harsher southern light through the two
layers of tall, thin concrete beams that make up the roof. his
apprenticeship with prouve and utzon was never more obvious and never
more gloriously fullfilled than here.

Hi -- I'm an architect and ph.d. student in Philadelphia, currently doing some research on Fehn. I noticed above that you mentioned having access to period photographs of the Brussels pavilion. I managed to get quite a few images from the archives in Oslo, but I would love to see what you have, if you were able to find them.

sadly, it turned out my father-in-law had thrown out all his old photos when moving back from france to denmark the previous year...so close...
did you find colour photos by any chance, I have only seen black and whites?
