Visby, Sweden 03-07-11

Visby, Sweden 03-07-11

Further to the candle I lit a few days ago ... Pat is still in critical condition ... some organs are taking over more of the work for themselves again, yet others simply are not. She is still in the induced coma ... and we wait.

... and again I feel like lighting a candle ...

In this particular church in Visby there was a huge wrought iron candle stand ... arms curling and branching, and at intervals it had little holders for the candles to go into. It was lovely really ... and so I decided that also here I would light a candle ... :)

And tonight I thought the photo would be the perfect thing for me to ... light another candle and say a prayer for Pat tonight ...

Maybe you will take her into your prayers too ...

Thank you also for the kind words and sentiments shared on the first candle image. I truly appreciate it and I believe it to be a wonderful thing if people from around the world are supporting Pat's healing through a network of prayer and positive energy. So thank you :)

Guadalest, Spain - 08-10-11

Guadalest, Spain - 08-10-11

When I was in Alicante recently I decided to take a day trip up to Guadalest, and oh my word – it’s breath-taking!!! The little town is inside the mountain really … as you approach you see nothing other than the bell-tower on the cliff-top. Town is a delight to wander through (obviously quite geared for tourists, but still full of charm) and the views from the castle walls etc are just amazing.

I didn’t find out why the colour of the water in that dam is such a surreal turquoise, but there you have it, that is actually what it looks like!!

More images from that day are available on the SeeOneSoul Photography website

... I lit a candle ... and said a prayer for you today ...

... I lit a candle ... and said a prayer for you today ...

I’m praying for you Pat …
as you quietly lie there and I silently sit here … we are far apart, but I am with you
You know that and I know you know that
I am with you
Quietly and calmly I sit by your side and I am simply present to you
I have no words … and somehow I don’t think it’s my words you need anyway
So I give you what I can offer you; my presence, my love, my prayers

Your body is going through turmoil … I have no idea what’s really going on in there
But quietly I sit here and trust … it will do exactly as it needs to do
Your body was perfectly designed, and though it may have been on this earth for 70 years now, it is strong and robust and resilient and infinitely intelligent
I trust that it will do precisely as it needs to do

I quietly site here with you
and give you all I have to give to you
my calm, strength, my love and my prayers
and so I quietly site here
and trust

...
I got news today, and as is always the case in these instances, it was unexpected news ...
A dear friend is in intensive care in hospital in a chemically induced coma, hooked up to a variety of machines to take over a variety of functions for the body
What precisely is "wrong" so to speak, the doctors cannot tell us with certainty ...

...
I felt like lighting a candle and praying ...

I'm not a church-goer in the traditional sense ... but spirituality is an integral part of my life ... and so as I've been traveling all over the world, I have found that it matters little weather it happens to be a Catholic church I visit or a Protestant church, or Russian Orthodox or Greek Orthodox or whatever ...
The space provided within a church is one of stillness and calm and serenity

And as I've been traveling the world for the past year, I've made it a habit to seek out a church in every port, preferably one where they have real wax candles for you to light (I don't like those electric things where you pop in a coin and the little light comes on) ... and I've been lighting a candle in almost every port ... I've been lighting a candle for my mum ... although she passed away some years back, I have been taking her traveling with me in this way :)

In this particular little Greek church on Samos I decided to take a photo of the flame as it waited for those who might need to light a candle from it in remembrance or in prayer ...

I do love Greece ...
And I loved my quiet time in this little church.
And so I thought the photo would be the perfect thing for my ... lighting a candle and saying a prayer for Pat tonight ...

Maybe you will take her into your prayers too ...

Bergen 18-06-2011... en route to Fassatun Waterfall

Bergen 18-06-2011... en route to Fassatun Waterfall

It started out a wet wet WET day!! But I was adamant I was going to photograph pretty much everything anyway! lol
Anyway, the skies did clear for us later, and we had a bit of blue sky & sunshine while we were at the waterfall ...
Gosh, I do love Norway! Such a striking landscape ... I simply can't tire of it!

I'm busy updating my travel galleries on the SeeOneSoul Photography website, so yes, you guessed it - I'm busy working on "Bergen & interior" ... Please do pop on over to take a peek at some of the other shots from visits to the area :)
