snow monsters come out to play

Looks like a weapon ;)

About half a km from the parking lot, we are losing the light quickly. I stop for one last view. The ski-hill lights nearby cast odd shadows onto the snow-covered trees. 'Stephen, look at these reflections of trees. Don't they look like snow animals?'

We laugh as we survey the changing landscape - while monster life awakens around us.

"Do you want your camera?" Stephen reaches into the top pocket of my pack, where I had stashed my CanonXT for the remainder of the hike

'Naaaah, too much trouble'. I worry about metering, the light, getting the focus right.

"Oh c'mon, take that last photo. You know you want to."

Stephen hands me my camera, and I quickly work the settings and take two final shots before light yields to utter darkness.

I'm so glad I did :)

WW - the route is wanded only up to Brockton point. Rely on memory and good sense to reach the peak.

The conditions should be *superb* if you start early in the morning, before the hordes appear - we are slated to receive even more snow than we did in the past few days. Rain in the city means snow in the hills - yay!!
