although one can drive (or walk) down to powerstation one, powerstation two is a little more out of the way. this is the more active of the two stations by the water.
note that Buntzen Lake is just on the other side of the green ridge mid-way in the picture. Buntzen Lake is dammed, and provides much of the energy serving the needs of people living on the north shore of vancouver
These power stations were used in many Hollywood films and TV productions - they look quite creepy from up-close, and have played the part of prisons, orphanages and other government buildings.

yours is Powerstation-1. My photo is the (active) Powerstation-2
there's a secret trail leading to P-1 from the road down to P-2. And, of course P-1 is accessible from a boat or a kayak. I've been on the grounds... beautiful historical location.
