Amazing musicianship, beautiful tone, varied program (an original work composed by all four members, Phillip Glass, Beethoven), disciplined artists. One gets the sense they could play just about anything in any genre. I've followed the work of a couple of west coast string quartets who burned up the music scene in the 80s and 90s and strayed much further afield of classical music roots, so these guys offerings for the evening didn't seem as edgy and "genre bending" to my first time ear; but, they blew everyone's socks off, none the less. Pure musicianship, near perfection in tight, passionate playing. Very enjoyable. Standing ovation and three curtain calls (no encore, though).
